Building trustworthy 21st century healthcare systems: Results from the OECD Patient Reported Indicator Surveys (PaRIS) Online
19 February 2026 | 15:00 - 16:00 CET | Webinar
The Patient-Reported Indicator Surveys (PaRIS) flagship report “Does healthcare deliver?” presents the results from the first international survey of primary care users aged 45 years and older, focusing on people living with chronic conditions. By capturing patients’ self-reported health outcomes and care experiences, PaRIS offers an invaluable perspective for assessing healthcare systems across the OECD countries and beyond.
This webinar focuses on the results presented in chapter 6 of the PaRIS flagship report focusing on how trust is an important indicator of the quality and performance of healthcare systems and individual care professionals. More than half of PaRIS respondents trust the healthcare system in their country. The chapter explores empirical findings and relationships related to trust from PaRIS data linking trust related outcomes to physical and mental health, experiences of care, healthcare capabilities, individual characteristics, and primary care characteristics. Overall, higher levels of trust are associated with better health, better experiences of care, care co‑ordination, and better capacity for self-management.
The discussion brings experts on the topic to discuss mechanisms for building and maintaining higher levels of trust in institutions, healthcare systems, and care professionals.
