Screening & Early Detection: Best Practices for National Implementation of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan Online

13 October 2026 | 10:00 –11:00 CEST | Online

The EFPIA Oncology Platform (EOP) and Lung Cancer Europe are hosting the first webinar in the EOP three-part series on National Cancer Control Plans (NCCPs) and cancer policy implementation in Europe, focusing on “Screening & Early Detection”.

Confirmed speakers include representatives from the EFPIA Oncology Platform, Lung Cancer Europe, the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, and SOLACE.

The session will bring together European and national perspectives on the opportunities and challenges shaping cancer screening today, with a particular focus on lung cancer. Panellists will share evidence and experiences from across Europe, explore lessons from national implementation, and discuss how EU-level action can help address remaining gaps.

The webinar builds on the findings of the 2025 report, “Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan in Action: National Implementation for the Future”, developed by the EFPIA Oncology Platform and Cancer Patients Europe. The report assessed the alignment of National Cancer Control Programmes in six EU Member States with the objectives and priorities of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan, identifying areas of progress as well as gaps in implementation. You can read the full report here.

As the first webinar in the series, this session will set the scene for further discussions on how Europe’s cancer policy priorities can translate into stronger national action, bringing together policymakers, experts, patient representatives and industry for an open exchange on the way forward.
