Don’t fall for dupes
Fake medicines are everywhere online, and they’re dangerous. Over 50% of medicines sold online are counterfeit. These dupes may contain the wrong dose, the wrong ingredients, or nothing at all. At best, they don’t work. At worst, they can kill.
That’s why EFPIA and TikTok are teaming up to raise awareness about the risks of buying medicines through social platforms.
Special thanks to MEP Kulja for lending his voice to this video and helping to highlight how serious the threat of counterfeit medicines is.
Don’t put your health at risk. Fake medicines are not dupes. Real medicines are not sold on social media. Only buy your medicine from verified pharmacies.
What TikTok users can do
TikTok does not permit the sale, trade, or solicitation of medicines on the platform. If you see content selling medicines on TikTok, don’t engage and don’t buy. Instead, report the post using the reporting tool under Illegal activities. By reporting suspicious content, you help protect yourself and others from harmful counterfeits.
